Meet Nancy Gallagher DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Nancy is a seasoned healthcare professional with over 30 years of nursing experience and a deep commitment to patient-centered care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in 1993, and began her career at a major medical center in Denver, Colorado, on a Medical-Surgical Unit. After returning to New England, Nancy expanded her expertise in various settings, including ICU, Surgical Vascular Unit, Psychiatric Nursing, and Home Care.

In 2005, Nancy earned a Master of Science in Nursing with a Cognate in Education from the University of New Hampshire. This milestone marked the start of her role as Nursing Faculty at Rivier University, where she also continued her practice in acute care. Her passion for mental health care led Nancy to complete a Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Rivier University. In 2015, she became board-certified as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and began practicing at Lakes Region Mental Health Center in Laconia, NH.

Nancy further advanced her expertise by earning a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of New Hampshire in 2018. With 10 years as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and a rich background in diverse nursing specialties, she brings a wealth of knowledge to her practice and is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

Having lived in New Hampshire for over three decades, Nancy enjoys the state’s stunning lakes, mountains, golf courses, and seacoast. She treasures time spent with family and friends, finding balance and joy in the beautiful natural surroundings of her home state.
